Women's cancers we treat
It's critical to make informed decisions and choose the right treatment options for you. We have highly trained physicians and clinicians who focus on the most difficult gynecological cancer cases.
We offer treatment for various cancers, including:
- Cervical cancer
- Ovarian cancer
- Uterine cancer
- Vaginal cancer
- Vulvar cancer
Ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer symptoms are typically chronic and get worse over time. They usually show up after the disease has advanced. For this reason, it's crucial to see a doctor if you experience symptoms such as abdominal discomfort or fatigue and pain.
Uterine cancer
Uterine cancer is the most common gynecological malignancy, and surgical intervention is often the main form of treatment. However, in certain situations, a combination of these treatments may be used, based largely on the stage of the cancer.
Vulvar cancer
Vulvar is the second-most typical type of cancer we treat, which often gets misdiagnosed until there is a large enough tumor on the vulva. Vulvar cancer often affects the inner edges of the labia majora or the labia minora. It occurs on the clitoris or in the Bartholin glands less often. The average age of women diagnosed with invasive vulvar cancer is 70, so it's important to have pelvic exams to help with early detection.
Treatment for women's cancers
Gynecological oncology involves the treatment of various cancers of the pelvis or reproductive systems, including ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, vulvar cancer, and vaginal cancer. Treatment options for the different types of gynecologic cancers vary. For example, ovarian cancer treatment includes abnormal tissue removal, chemotherapy, risk reduction surgery and surgical debulking. Chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery may be considered depending on the type of cancer, its stage and other factors.
We offer many procedures for various gynecological care concerns, including:
- Colposcopy
- Destruction or excision of lesion of the cervix (including LEEP)
- Destruction or excision of vaginal lesions
- >Gynecological cancer screening
- Hysterectomy (robotic and traditional)
- Laparotomy
- Lymphadenectomy
- Pelvic exenteration for gynecological, urinary or colorectal malignancy
- Removal of reproductive organs: hysterectomy, oophorectomy, salpingectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy and resection of peritoneal malignancies
- Vaginectomy
- Vulvectomy
