Radiofrequency ablation for uterine fibroids

Also known as leiomyomas, uterine fibroids are noncancerous growths that develop in the uterus. While some women don't experience symptoms, others may face excessive bleeding or pain. Treatment may include medication or surgery.

A minimally procedure we offer is radiofrequency ablation (RFA), which uses heat energy to destroy tissues. Once small incisions are completed, a needle-sized probe is placed, and an ultrasound is used to guide the heat waves. Usually, the procedure takes around an hour, and you can return home the same day. With RFA, you may experience fewer complications, shorter recovery times, more relief and minimal scarring.
